EF2.0 midpoint Model - Climate change tot, fos, bio & luc

Dear ecoinvent team,

When accessing to GWP indicators under the EF2.0 midpoint model, I understand that indicator Climate change total should be equal to fos + bio + luc. However, when doing the sum of the 3 climate change subindicators, the total differs.

I would like to confirm if it is only because of the number of decimals displayed in GWP Total or if there is any other reason.

Please, advise if it would be more accurate to use Climate change total directly from the database or if it would be better to calculate the sum of Climate change fossil + biogenic + land use.

Thank you in advance for your assistance,

Best Regards,

Dear user,

Thank you for your question. The difference in the total amount is only due to the displayed decimals. Using the total is accurate enough for life cycle studies, but of course it is not wrong to calculate the total yourself.

I hope this answers your question.
