Hi there!
I was recently notified by colleagues that one can make requests for new processes on the Ecoinvent website. I hope this is the right place.
A series of LCA studies have been produced over the past ten years about innovative aquaculture systems, notably for seaweed and low trophic species such as mussels. However there is a lack of data/processes that cover marine infrastructure components (e.g. different types of marine grade ropes, cables, shackles, chains, anchors, buoys, etc.), and also that can be adapted to be representative of small-medium scale boats (e.g. range of fishing boa sizes running on biogas, petrol or diesel) and transport of aquaculture-goods at sea (e.g. refrigerated or not).
A dataset that provides this sort of information would be extremely valuable. It would enable informed decision making by policy-makers and practitioners working in the booming european aquaculture sector, and thus support blue-growth activities in the coming decade (decade of ocean science for sustainable development).
This is discussed in my latest publication in ICES Journal of Marine Science (open access here: https://doi.org/10.1093/icesjms/fsaa112).
