Dear James,

The need of a sensitivity analysis is not linked to the use of a specific system model.

Sensistivity is used to assess the importance of data, parameters, assumptions, etc. that have significant impact on results and how the variation of those may change the results.

You can of course do a sensitivity analysis in regards to a system model as well, for example, if wastes are important in your study, you could consider looking at the results in the APOS system model. Cut-off and APOS treat wastes differently which has an impact on results.

The decision of conducting a sensitivity analysis and based on what, depend on the goal of your study and is a choice of the LCA practitioner. A good starting point for this can be existing literature on the topic.

Best regards,
