Hello,
In section 4.5.1 of the "Documentation of changes implemented in the ecoinvent database v3.7 & v3.7.1" report, you state "For this release, we focused in ensuring mass- and carbon-balances for the wood and paper sector at large, as well as to other datasets relevant for the work with the EN1804 standard, in order to prepare the database to apply allocation correction for biogenic carbon in a systematic way". I am correct in understanding that to mean that the allocation correction has not yet been applied and will be in a future release?
If it has been for this realease, then I would expect for all the wood and paper sectors datasets listed in Table 4 (and their related datasets in the cut-off by classification version of the database, for example the market datasets), that in the LCI, the "Carbon dioxide, in air" exchange amount (input) to be at least equal to the sum of the non-fossil carbon content of the product x 44 / 12 and the "Carbon dioxide, non-fossil" emissions (output).
I have checked this for a few datasets and that is not the case for the paper sector datasets (core board, folding boxboard, corrugated board box, newsprint, woodfree paper, woodcontaining paper), the input (carbon dioxide uptake) was always lower than the output (carbon content and emissions). For some of the wood sector datasets it is the opposite, the input seems to be too large, for example for the glued laminated timber, the uptake is 1 ton higher than the output.
Could you then confirm that the correction has not yet been applied and if it was, did I make an error in my verifications?
Thank you.
