ecoinvent at the Olympics

The Swiss Business Hub and swissnex Brazil transformed the House of Switzerland Brazil 2016 into a collective "power house" on the 8th August, inviting HoS visitors and experts to learn about, present, debate, produce and save energy to reach a common goal.

ecoinvent was present with posters, providing visitors an introduction to life cycling thinking. Moreover, ecoinvent's Executive Director, Gregor Wernet, took part in a panel discussion.

A Common Goal: Saving Energy

The Energy Day provided a platform to debate about future energy production.

Introducing Life Cycle Thinking

ecoinvent was present at the public session on the "State of the Art Solutions – Research and Market Applications". Academia and start-ups shared their knowledge and proposals to support Switzerland and Brazil in moving towards more sustainable sources of energy.

 

Together with Quantis, ecoinvent introduced the life cycle thinking approach to the public using the example of electric cars. See the whole posters (life cycle thinking and today's and tomorrow's energy) to find out how green electric cars depend on the country's electricity mix.

In collaboration with Quantis, ecoinvent created posters addressing these questions for of three everyday products. Find out what impacts are associated with the production, consumption and disposal of a t-shirt, chocolate and coffee.

 

A Taste of the Olympics

The House of Switzerland Brazil 2016 supported the 2.000 Watt society initiative, proposed by ETH Zurich researchers to make consumers more conscious about their energy consumption and the way foward for their city and country.
