ecoinvent version 3.3 is here

The third update of ecoinvent version 3 has been released today – three years after 3.0 and only 8 months after the last update to ecoinvent 3.2.

The latest version delivers both in terms of quantity and quality - more data in form of a first part of the World Food LCA Database as well as various features providing more ease of use when working with ecoinvent.

Less than a year after the substantial release of ecoinvent 3.2, which included a complete update of the electricity sector, ecoinvent 3.3 provides yet again a considerable amount of new data and overall improvements to the database. Learn more, in a nutshell, about what the the latest version has to offer.

All supporting documents and files including the change report and correspondence file from version 3.2 to 3.3 can be found on our website, getting you off to a flying start. To access ecoinvent 3.3 login to ecoQuery. If your maintenance has expired, drop us an email at sales@ecoinvent.org or contact your respective LCA software provider stating your ecoinvent username. 

 

 

ecoinvent at the Olympic Games


The Swiss Business Hubs and Swissnex hosted an Energy Day on the 8th August at the House of Switzerland at the Olympic Games. The aim of the day was to learn about, present, debate, produce and save energy in order to reach a common goal. Ecoinvent was present with posters providing visitors an introduction to life cycling thinking. Moreover, ecoinvent's Executive Director, Gregor Wernet, took part in a panel discussion.

New President of the ecoinvent Association


After over 3 years Stefanie Hellweg, Head Ecological Systems Design Group at ETH Zurich has handed over the presidency of the ecoinvent Association to Roland Hischier, Head Advancing Life Cycle Assessment Group, at Empa.


We would like to thank Stefanie for her great leadership, support and guidance throughout her time as president of the ecoinvent Association and are happy that she will remain a trusted member of the ecoinvent Board.


Roland, a long-standing employee and Deputy Manager from February 2008 to November 2011, became a member of the ecoinvent Board in April 2013. His extensive experience with ecoinvent and insights will prove invaluable for the Association. We would like to congratulate him on his new position within ecoinvent.
